About Coach Junior

With a solid career in both soccer and futsal, Junior Sourient, known as Coach JR, began his journey as a professional soccer player in Brazil and, since 2001, has dedicated himself to coaching youth futsal. He holds a degree in Physical Education and a postgraduate specialization in Motor Development from PUC-PR (2003), which has strengthened his technical and pedagogical approach to the game.

In Brazil, he played for traditional clubs such as Paraná Clube-PR, Portuguesa Londrinense-PR, Bandeirante Esporte Clube-SP, and Hope Internacional Futebol Clube-PR. He is currently the head coach at DA Futsal Soccer Academy (USA), bringing his international experience to the development of young athletes.

Throughout his career, he has achieved important milestones, including:

    •    Metropolitan Champion (U-11) in Curitiba-PR (Paraná Clube);

    •    Voted Rookie Coach of the Year in the same competition (Paraná Clube);

    •    3rd place in the Brazil Cup U-12 (Hope Internacional);

    •    Apopka League Champion and League Champions of Champions in the USA, with DA Futsal Soccer Academy.

However, his greatest achievement lies in the impact he has had on the athletes he has trained. Coach JR has guided the development of numerous young players who have gone on to succeed as professionals in both futsal and soccer.

With a vision focused on the integral development of the athlete, Coach JR believes that sports go beyond technical skills: they also foster intellectual, emotional, and social growth. Today, in the United States, his purpose is to contribute to the growth of futsal by sharing his knowledge and experience through DA Academy, inspiring young players to become not only great athletes but also outstanding individuals.
